Re: 4DO won't start - I don't know why

Alright! Good call Bry. I agree I should update SlimDX versions. With SlimDX.dll in the ZIP this is a pretty lightweight change.

Re: 4DO won't start - I don't know why

Thanks again for the reply. Option 1 - I'm really not sure how to add that registry line. If you have a .reg file, I can do it that way  Option 2 - I used ILSpy. I took a screen shot. Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see. I might try a newer version of the SlimDX later tonigh...

Re: 4DO won't start - I don't know why

I've been struggling to come up with an explanation for this. If you're interested in trying out 4DO, I have some ideas to help out. I can at least clarify that the problem is loading SlimDX.dll. To clarify, it is finding SlimDX.dll, but it can't load it. I do not know why it's not loading, especial...

Re: 1.1.2.1 Great release

Well, I'm unsure how much steam you'll have to look into any core emulation problems, but I figure a good place to start your understanding is GameConsole.cs . In this file you'll see a "Worker Thread" starting at line 599. It's responsible for processing one "frame" at a time. A...

Re: 1.1.2.1 Great release

I'd like to help test the compatibility of the games. Can I just edit the wiki pages myself, or should I report in the forum for somebody to check what I find? Sure! You'll need to register, but you could edit the Wiki. I think registration may be manual right now due to some ad bandits wrecking it...

Re: 1.1.2.1 Great release

I would love to get into the brains of an emulator. I've been coding my whole life but this is something that is pretty new to me. I've only had a quick look through the freeDo source, and it doesn't immediately make much sense to me. I'll try and find some time this week to get into the tech docs ...

Re: 1.1.2.1 Great release

Yellow words come up on the screen that say please insert disc 2. I use a virtual disc drive so I had to mount the disc and then I selected the drive again in the emulator. It reset and then after the disc 2 splash screen, the game started playing where I left off on disc 1. Uh oh. This might be a ...

Re: 1.1.2.1 Great release

Howdy Paul, As far as changing CD's goes, I think games save to the save-game NVRAM and ask you to reset the console with the new CD. And, regarding the Intel Express chipset, I don't know what it's deal is exactly, but at least the GDI rendering fallback irons it out. I'm glad to hear the audio is ...

Re: commandline feature

Since this emulator launches the game as soon as it is opened i realized i don't even need a command line for the to work with my frontend! So all good here! :) Well, that was easy! :) Also, keep in mind you can edit the 4DO settings file if you become desperate to "script" this behavior.

Re: Frames Per Second very unstable (v.1.1.1.1)

I concur that you're probably running into the "timing problems" BryWI mentions. This seems to only affect some machines. Resolving this elusive issue is my current current priority. It's a confusing one! In fact, I previously assumed it was Windows XP only. Just so you know, I have tried ...
