thanks for the feedback bryWI but that's not it on my end. soon as i select a game in my FE, i spin the trackball down. by the time 4DO launches, the cursor is at the bottom of the screen. when those menu options pop up, it takes a good spin or two to get the mouse back up there.

i really appreciate your help! trust me, this isnt a big deal. i'm just glad i have 4d0 up and running with my FE, thanks again for that!

Continually asking will not speed up the process.

Since this emulator launches the game as soon as it is opened i realized i don't even need a command line for the to work with my frontend! So all good here! :)

Well, that was easy! :)

Also, keep in mind you can edit the 4DO settings file if you become desperate to "script" this behavior.

Loading from the command line would still be an awesome feature. The frontend on my media centre PC doesn't mount ISO images, so still needs emulators to load them from the command line. As was said before, the main three functions needed would be...

1) Load ISO from command line.
2) Specify full screen mode.
3) Use ESC to quit.

Any chance JohnnyDude? Pretty pleeeeeeease? :D

The first two are feasible, but I don't really want to make ESC quit, since that escapes fullscreen and I find that to be intuitive these days. Could you use ALT+F4 to quit?

Good news! I did it. But only because I'm so very sure that if and when you're a millionaire, you'll remember me.

Coming soon to a 4DO near you:

Code: Select all

======================================================================
= 4DO (1.1.6.2) command line options usage                           =
=   Basic usage: 4DO.exe [-option value][/option "value"][--switch]  =
======================================================================

  -StartLoadFile [filename] : Loads a game from file.
  -StartLoadDrive [letter]  : Loads from CD of the drive letter.
  --StartFullScreen         : Start Full Screen.

  --PrintKPrint        : Prints KPRINT (3DO debug) output to console.
  --ForceGDIRendering  : Forces GDI Rendering rather than DirectX.
  --DebugStartupPaused : Start 4do in a paused state.

Yep, you OWE me. Actually, your first born sounds like a fair trade.
